Hope for Her

In our programs we prioritize a special reach to the girl child and the women who are especially experiencing difficult circumstances. These among others include; school girls, school drop outs, teenage mothers, single mothers, commercial sex workers and girls who are at risk of abuse.

Why Hope for Her

We know that girls in Uganda are going through very difficult situations some of which are never mentioned and therefore never addressed. Many girls live with several untold stories which have ruined their mental stability and hence permanently affecting personal growth and development for many.

As they are growing up, girls’ needs tend to surpass those of boys mainly because apart from other forms of abuse, girls are key victims of sexual abuse which is largely perpetuated by the male gender.

Our research over the years has indicated that men take advantage of the big and small gaps that reveal themselves through failure to address the girls’ physical, social and emotional needs.

A mere difficulty or failure for a girl to have reliable access to sanitary pads has caused mental health challenges to many and for others, their search for someone to provide them with a sanitary pad has landed them into being sexually abused”.

Our Intervention:

We believe in preserving and restoring the Girls’ Dignity as the primary factor for them to thrive. H4RI directly works with the girls, their families and other duty bearers to ensure that some of the girls needs are sustainably met and that the degree of lack amongst girls is highly surpassed.

Our support to the girl child is realised through;

Making, training and Distribution of Reusable Sanitary Pads:

The activity of Pads making and distribution serves the first main purpose for founding H4RI and this was in response to the challenges of menstrual hygiene that
